Private versus Corporate Practice

There are so many choices to take when you open a small health or holistic practice. Many stay in private practice because this is all they know, and all they have been taught. There has never been a mentor available to teach health professionals that private practice is not the only choice. Stretch! Invest in yourSelf.
If you have done well in your private practice or it no longer brings you satisfaction, or you are looking for something new, it’s time to get out of your comfort zone. We don’t grow in comfort. We grow when we are challenged to better ourselves, to reach new goals and to learn more about ourselves personally and professionally. If you aren’t sure how your personal development affects you professionally, see our new online course – short & sweet, called Personal Development & Your Health Practice. I have been in private practice since 2011, and although I love my clients, my focus has always been corporate health – where helping more than one person at a time brings me joy. Helping an organization achieve health goals, no matter what they may be, is one that requires leadership, responsibility and the innate ‘calling’ to help more people, including the company.
Your private practice clients for the most part, are employed somewhere. The organization and the remaining employees could use your knowledge and expertise to increase the health of the organization, and its people. Why aren’t you there helping? Why keep yourself small in your clinic?
Don’t get caught up just yet, as to how this looks like. Honestly, if you are starting to think, I have to do this and that, then you aren’t thinking big enough. There are no restrictions as to what you can offer an organization. The limitations are only in your mind. Stretch beyond the confines of the box you have placed yourself in, in your profession. Yes, there is a scope of practice, but many health practitioners again, are still within the box and never stretch the boundaries of their scope of practice. With all the knowledge, years of education, years of practice, you can offer so much more than a massage or a physio treatment. Don’t undersell your abilities. Open your mind!

This is why I love my course. Together we work together and move the restrictions you have placed on yourself to work within confines where everything, eventually becomes rote. You deserve to be excited everyday you go to work, because when you work with employers each day, they can bring you something different, challenging and growth! I love variety when I work. I never see the same thing day in and day out. Corporate practice requires you to use all of your creative skills to provide solutions to the employer for the health of the employee for various diverse problems.
Working outside the confines of your clinic, or your practice, can leave you vulnerable because it can be scary to try something new, but it also allows you to use all of your knowledge and experience to make a difference to hundreds of people, not just one. You grow into a well-rounded practitioner, stretching and reaching for more – more time freedom, more financial rewards and more that makes your heart sing when you achieve results that the employee and the employer need for the health of their organization. It’s worth it to try this corporate health practice to help you grow personally and professionally into the best you can be.
